A description of how man's ego and his vision of time lead to his suffering.

The great awakening comes when man realizes that his ego is causing most of our problems. Those in connection with Being went beyond the mind of thoughts and communicated to all of us that there was much more at stake than the fulfillment of needs and desires. There were many throughout the history of our species that tried to tell us that we needed to evolve spiritually. Mankind was not ready to listen or he changed the teachings to suit his own egoic needs. Man just was not ready to transcend his dysfunctional ways.

Our true mission in life is to transcend the mind of thoughts. By dispensing with egoic dysfunction, the true spirit covered up has the chance to come out into the world. The teachers of the eons past and the ones to which we have heeded in the present have all called for this in one way or another. Any mind made construct has done little in the evolution of the species except hinder our spiritual connection.

The evolution of our social structure was inhibited in the same way. The immense collective ego that has existed for thousands of years had to be brought down the same way. In the past, groups, religions, nations of men, countries, city-states, races, ethnic backgrounds, political organizations, all share a common thread. They were all created by the ego. Because of its dysfunctional nature, these groups all reflected this dysfunction. Instead of gathering people together in order to feel our connection with one another, These organizations actually splinter into us against them. New factions are formed within the groups and the original ideals that were the basis of the organizations is lost in egoic dysfunction.

The ancient religion of Christianity is a prime example of how the collective ego takes over and negates any connection amongst people that it sought in the beginning to establish. The Church’s history is filled with disagreements of how the organization should view the teachers of Jesus. Christianity was formed in sects with each group having its own beliefs on how to proceed. The church consolidated all of these sects and dispensed with the ones that it did not agree with. Those wishing to follow the teachings of Jesus were told that they had to follow the doctrines, dogmas, and creeds exactly as prescribed or they were not members. If they were members and were deemed in opposition to the edicts, the Church felt compelled to either excommunicate them or have them exterminated.

We see how the collective ego’s fear came into play. This is its fear of annilation or loss of some kind. The ego sees the loss of material goods, power, prestige, and so on, as a direct assault upon its self and therefore the organism it inhabits.
