A minimum of $126.00 was spent on you today . . .

What if a person spent a $126.00 on you. . . Is that enough to get your attention? What would you do for them?  If you add up all the money raised for the Palm Springs Mayoral and City Council campaigns and divide it by the estimated 6,000 residents that generally vote. . . that's approximately $90 to $ 130 per voter (my numbers are taken from past articles in the newspaper and may not be totally accurate).  MY point is this, each vote is important!  It gets even more complicated when you think of all the candidates labor and efforts to get to election today . . .   Let's imagine and minimize that by taking a token amount of labor exhausted by the candidates only since August . . .    Let's say that each of them minimally did 20 hours a week for their campaign these last 8 weeks . . .  Let's reflect the minimum wage of $7.50, that's another $26 to add to the original $100.  That's approximately $ 126.00 on trying to get you to stand up and be counted?  Ok, you're right, once I get going, I can't stop! If I took all the labor from all the campaign workers as well that would raise it to $300 to $500 per vote (using the average of only 6,000 voters per election). . .  So why do all the candidates, contributors, and the campaign worker think your vote is so important and you don't?  Rather than buying a thank you card for their efforts and contributions, these people would prefer that you simply go and vote!  (Who knows how much they really spent on you considering the cost of printing ballots, the employees efforts in coordinating the process.  If we literally consider everything, the 6,000 votes are priceless.)
