Sage Sweetwater, a Wiccan lesbian no stranger to lesbian aficionados, Christian or otherwise, and women of feminist sensibility.

Colorado Firebrand Lesbian Novelist, Poet and Storyteller Sage Sweetwater is surefooted on the Prohibition dirt whiskey trail, her religion in the era in which she lives.  In the era he lives, her modern-day neighbor oversees the wild mustang training program broken by the inmate wranglers at a nearby Colorado prison.

Sage Sweetwater, a Wiccan lesbian no stranger to lesbian aficionados, Christian or otherwise, and women of feminist sensibility, spurs her self-promotion in many directions on that dirt whiskey trail and lets it naturally act as a human funnel to collect fans. She uses her knowledge to build themes and corral the internet media and filmmakers.

Sage instructs her screenwriter who is adapting Sage's lesbian Western novel From the Convent to the Rawhide: The Saga of Sadie Cade and Vi Montana to screen, to stay with the original storyline for a cinematic story on film, which parallels taming a wild mustang.  Even in Sage's upcoming novel DOMINGA RIO OF CUERO, the wild mustang called the Judas sticks to his natural instincts when it comes to adapting to his environment. "Stay with the original," the Judas says.  The story revolves around several themes, one of them being the US-Mexico Border Patrol unit of the Shadow Wolves, Native American trackers with the US Border Patrol.  So when Sage Sweetwater read recently that mustangs were also patroling the US-Canada border with sturdy mustangs named "Okanogan" and "Spurs", they could be brothers to Sage's "Judas." The theme of a plot line in Sage Sweetwater's DOMINGA RIO OF CUERO is a mustang from the US Bureau of Land Management's wild horse and burro program, blending today's technology with yesterday's law enforcement traditions...

It all comes out in the religion of wagon-building and Iceland donating to a North Dakota town which is recent news of Sage Sweetwater's.

Seems Bismark North Dakota is building a community center.  North Dakota is rich in Icelandic heritage, so that didn't surprise anyone recently when North Dakota officials told Iceland Prime Minister Geir Haarde about the proposed $1.3 million dollar community center.

Prime Minister Geir Haarde came to the town last year for the 108th annual August the Deuce Icelandic Celebration. It commemorates the beginning of Iceland's journey to independence from Denmark.  He said,  "The ongoing effort by our family and friends in North Dakota to preserve and honor their rich and unique Icelandic heritage, history and culture is an inspiration to the people of Iceland."  Furthermore, he said, "We recognize the necessity of this project and the commitment of those who are involved ... and we feel that it is important for us to assist them in their efforts."

Prime Minister Geir Haarde made a $75,000 donation from Iceland. The community center will house the local fire department, a cafe and other businesses, a banquet room and a church office...which brings Sage Sweetwater to another point of the generous wheel of cultures and religions.

*"For the better of a year, Jediah has immersed himself in wagon building and restoration.

"He makes wagons, making sure the wheels turn, the hand brakes can be set and released, tool boxes can be opened and closed, carriage lanterns flash on and off, and he makes sure the burlap beans sacks are filled to the double-stitched seam and sewn shut as standard equipment.

"Only when he's talking about the Lord's quality in his construction, Jediah shows his enthusiasm.  He squats down and caresses the underbelly, saying proudly, "They're made from an old, laborious method," and then he goes on to the sermon that is not weak or plywood preachy.

"'This surrey is cut down to allow easy access to the seats.  There is no sit-down money here for any able-bodied adult - I'm talking about welfare.  Now the Lord wants us to have an easy life, but in this case, to those who give in, it weakens the carriage because the sideboard should be bolted to the sill to form a truss.  This is where it will break in two.  We employ a sturdy metal brace and tie it into the seat, no plywood," Jediah says, "there's not a scrap of plywood in any of my carriages - they're not going to  give in, they're sturdy.  They need to be - your grandkids will be driving it one day with the Lord at the reins.'

"Jediah can find a sermon in almost anything.  He's about turning wheels, not pages.  To him, the wagons represent a link to a time when ranching and farming was a way of life where transportation was equine and wagons were the only way to move supplies.  They're a part of important history.  When the times comes, he'll make a convert out of you." *(abridged From the Convent to the Rawhide: The Saga of Sadie Cade and Vi Montana - Copyright 2006 Sage Sweetwater)

page turner, movie reels roll, can imagine Jediah's wagon, it has all the strength and beauty of pure craft - woodcraft, any craft, is hard graft with love, for something lasting - something that means much more than the sum of its parts - art - what a journey you are on! Good work Sage, momentum of a finely crafted wheel, can a Brit say 'wagon's roll' and get away with it? Perhaps not, but the gypsy is smiling, watching from the hills :o)Nicky xxx
