A story about a little girl who never gets to be the star in the school Christmas play learns the true meaning of Christmas from long ago elf named Brams. Brams is a loner who lives in a village of button making elves and loves to spend his days collecting things that other people may call throwaways or trash. One day during his travels he discovers an everlasting gift that he presents to the Christ Child. This teaches the young girl that being an elf is a very important part of Christmas, and that each role we play is significant and important.
This story was written nearly ten years ago and bound and given to my family for a Christmas gift. I never considered it for publication because I had my other stories that I had been working on for years that I wanted to be my first published works. Then I came across the manuscript one day and decided it was worth sending in. I tweaked the story a little, added a little more detail and sent it into a publisher. They accepted it and it just received the "Best Children's Fiction Book Award" from the publisher and it has been on the best selling fiction list for months. My publisher has just accepted a follow up book to Always the Elf called the Easter Elf that will be released in Spring 09. A great Christmas gift for all ages!
