In Debbie Glade's new illustrated children's book, "The Travel Adventures of Lilly P. Badilly: Costa Rica," a bright, curious young millipede named Lilly P. Badilly takes readers on the adventure of a lifetime when she and her grandparents spontaneously decide to sneak aboard a plane to Costa Rica. The precocious young Lilly lives with her grandparents in a hole in the wall in Miami International Airport. The Badillys' spur-of-the moment trip takes readers up close and personal with the sights and sounds of Costa Rica's diverse wildlife and geography. In the fertile rainforests of this small Central American country, Lilly must summon all of her courage and knowledge to face her biggest fear, and save her family and friends. "The Travel Adventures of Lilly P. Badilly: Costa Rica" carries important, age-appropriate messages about environmental conservation and overcoming one's fears.

“The Travel Adventures of Lilly P. Badilly: Costa Rica” is a book about a millipede named Lilly.  Lilly is about to go on a trip to Costa Rica because her grandparents are sick of living in an airport. One day, they decided to get on a plane.  The grandpa didn’t want to go but they went anyway.  Lilly loved to read and learn and was excited about this new adventure.

Lilly used a guidebook to help her learn about Costa Rica.  She was looking forward to going and seeing all of the many animals there. She wanted to eat new food and see all there was to see. Even when things got tough, they all stayed together and happy as a family.

They came back from their trip and lived back at home in the airport.  They liked Costa Rica but were happy to be home.

I liked “The Travel Adventures of Lilly P. Badilly: Costa Rica” a lot.  It was educational and showed me new things about a new country.  I didn’t like the CD that came with it because it read the story to me.  I liked the background music but since I can read, I didn’t need the CD to read the book for you.  For younger kids who can’t read the CD might help but for me, I didn’t like it.  Other than that, this book was really good.
