Don't alienate yourself from other authors or industry professionals.

Reach out into the unknown. Learn a new vocabulary. Make contact...

You may be so focused on writing that you deny yourself the opportunity to meet other authors or professionals in the book industry. If so, it's time to get out of your confined space and make contact.

A variety of author associations exist out there for the very purpose of bringing like-minded people together. Subscribing to an association newsletter or signing up for a seminar will open up a whole galaxy of information and possibilities. You may even get a discount on the price of admission to an industry event if you are a member of an author's association.

Search the world wide web for groups in your area. Being a part of an association or network puts you in the know regarding upcoming contests or may create marketing venues you hadn't thought of before.

On the links page of www.lornatremaine.com, you'll find resources to help get you started on your way. If there are other links or resources you come across in your search, let me know and I'll include them on my page.
