All over the world many people celebrates Christmas but the disturbing aspect of it is that a lot of people do not know the reason for this unique celebration. To every thing there is a purpose, and "when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable" says Dr. Myles Munroe. In the same manner, the celebration of the birth of our Lord is always abused by men and women at the season we are in because people have not understood the purpose of Christ's birth.
It is good to rejoice during Christmas but it is equally important for us to know why He came. The gospel according to St. John in the first chapter says that "He came to His own and they received Him not but to as many as received Him, He gave them power to become the sons of God". Christ came so that we that are lost might be reconciled back to the Lord. The question that you need to ask yourself as you celebrate His birth is "Do I really know Him?" If you cannot confidently say "Yes", then you need to be reconciled back to your creator today. The moment you do this; He gives you the POWER to become God's son. You need to know that your celebration of Christmas without having a father-to-son relationship with the Lord God only amounts to a mere tradition.
Finally if you would open your heart to Him, He is right in front of your heart waiting to come in if only you would say "Yes Lord". He says "whosoever shall come unto me, I will no wise cast out. Call upon Him today and you can be sure that your salvation is guaranteed. It is only when you have genuinely done this that this season that we are in would no longer be like one of "those seasons" to you.
I wish and I pray that the grace of God that passes human understanding would flood your hearts during this period. I pray that you would have an encounter with Him today. Merry Christmas!
