Editor - You think things are bad now? Imagine what the economy would look like with gasoline at $5 a gallon. The Sierra Club and the rest of the environmental nuts have ruined the state of California. What might have started out as a good idea to protect the environment has turned into a bureaucratic nightmare with their insistence on no drilling, no exploration and no nuclear power.

California, endowed with vast riches, is at the mercy of self- centered environmentalists who are living in Camelot. Even our governor, enshrined in Hollywood glitter and far removed from the ordinary person, thinks California doesn't need to do its fair share in helping the rest of the nation.

It's time to do everything we can to create energy, because the future is coming and it isn't pretty.
