I held off seeing the movie, because when I absolutely love a book and it becomes a movie in my mind, what shows onscreen generally is not only disappointing but frustrating.

I react, well, I REALLY overreact to situations like that.

Such is the case with Twilight the movie, although some of my beefs are still there.

Although I bought the DVD of Twilight, my DVD wasn't working, and we switched on the ON DEMAND that Comcast features. Twilight was one of the 'pay per view' movies - we decided to see it.

I was ready to squirm like I did in the movie theater, but something happened. Instead of looking for the book, I was seeing the movie - through new eyes.

I still didn't like Robert Pattison's stupid bed head, or red lips, nor the initial viewing of Carlisle in the hospital where he looked like he had a bad blonde dye job, but I found myself really looking and enjoying the movie.

For an adaptation, it was really very good.

Do I still have feelings about the adaptation? As Sarah Palin would say 'You betcha!'

Things addressed were fine, things not addressed, such as stating Bella's clumsiness, her bumping into things were shown, but not specified to those who just thought it was a teen thing,and not addressing the Volturi (Carlisle hung out with them a long while and they play a BIG role from here on) still bothered me.

But for the most part, the casting was excellent, especially Jasper, the newest member of the Cullen clan - who will be the catalyst at the start of New Moon (due to Bella's clumsiness) - Alice and the Cullen kids were perfect, Billy and Jacob Black, Charlie, Bella's Dad, and the bad vamps, especially James were WOWS - Stewart as Bella was a great surprise - couldn't think of another taking her place.

Edward and Carlisle, maybe needed a looksee before production, but, maybe for the next movies they will ask Pattison to wash his hair a bit more frequently and not have a bird's nest as a 'do.

So, my apologies for my gut reaction seeing the movie for the first time, although my feelings were true .

Looking through new eyes, I see why the adaptation was made as it was, and since am writing a screenplay adaptation from a book myself, I can appreciate the skill involved in doing it.

Casting is another thing, but that is out of the hands of the writer, and I'd rate the casting a 90 out of 100.

If you have shied away from seeing Twilight, see it. You may not be the uber vamp fan who gets worked up if a favorite part isn't done verbatim. Sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery and the love story as it should be.

You will enjoy it. I am glad I saw Twilight a second time -
