Halt or I'll shoot were words ringing loud and clear in my head as the shotgun guard shouted at me above the roar of the diesel engine. The semi truck slowly passed between us. That was all the time I needed to escape.
Seeking revenge for the redneck justice I received in this 52,000 word manuscript only got me into more trouble. This story is my bio. “BLAME IT ON ELVIS” tells how trying to act like the King in the 1950s ruined not only my life, but also the lives of others close to me. I felt I was robbed of a normal life after being arrested and thrown in jail when I was eighteen, mainly over the way I combed my hair. I survived trials and endured many tribulations before I discovered my true purpose in life. My book is similar to Donn Pearce's novel Cool Hand Luke, except for one big difference. My story is true . I feel I am the best qualified to write this book. I vividly remember the events that happened to me like it was yesterday. Most everyone roots for the underdog. I certainly qualify in that respect. Public interest in an inspirational story seems always in demand. I have written six novels, The Last Train Home, Megan's Voyage, Teenagers Eulogy, Evil Eyes In The Lighthouse, Romancing A Stalker and Year of The Preacher. I was awarded the Fiction Promotions Exceptional Author Appreciation Award for my romance novel Megan's Voyage. I took creative writing classes at Florida Junior College at Jacksonville.
