Movie review for another Matthew McConaughey movie, where the supporting players are better than he is.

Connor Mead (McConaughey) is a notorious playboy photographer, with a bad boy reputation of loving beautiful women and then dumping them.It's all in the chase for this guy, who loves his freedom more than anything.He is opionated,flawed and lacks, emotionality and depth. He arrives at his younger brother's wedding, spewing negative comments about marriage, where he becomes reacquainted with Jenny Perotti (Garner), the only girl who ever captured his heart. After Connor delivers a drunken speech at the rehearsal dinner where he says that love isn't real, he's met in the bathroom by the ghost of his Uncle Wayne (Dogulas), a Hefner-esque womanizer who taught Conner everything he knows about chicks. Uncle Wayne informs Connor he'll be visited by three ghosts who will lead him through his romantic past, present, and future. Will Connor learn to get over himself and love the right woman, or will he remain an emotional Scrooge? Jenny does a great job of running interference for Connor because he is so hollow and self serving. I wasn't liking the shallowness of Connor, then Michael Douglas and Daniel Sunjata make their entrances. The three ghosts batter Connor (and he has it coming)similar to what Bill Murray endured in Scrooged. The potential for a great comedy is here - with the anticipation of encountering his past conquests, but it never really arrives. This tries in many scenes to be funny and comes off forced. This movie has a good supporting cast:Garner, Douglas & Sunjata."Sarge" would have been funnier had they cast Eugene Levy,as the actor seems to mimic his talk and manner. 3stars
