BOB ON HIS HIGH HORSE

Are Republicans really bearers of hate, and Democrats spreaders of love, peace and goodwill? Surely Bob Herbert (BP, Commentary, Mar 24) hasn't forgotten the hate directed at former president Bush or Sarah Palin? Bad enough was the hate directed at Sarah Palin, but even stooping lower by attacking her children... As for race, look no further then President Obama's pastor for 20 years, the Reverend Wright, a renowned racist.

So please, Mr Herbert , try to keep your side of the street clean, and while I am at it, may I ask: What have you done lately to stem the tide of hate? Because certainly your column isn't in the spirit of peace, love and tolerance.
