I was on my way to the Everglades when I took this picture of birds feasting on a dead alligator.
The alligator can be a very vicious creature, yet for some reason this one ended up dead on the side of the road being devoured by birds. How can that be? How in the world did this alligator end up on the side of the road? I felt very badly for this poor alligator. The scene wisk me into thinking about how fragile life can be. Even the strongest can at times fall short. It is too late for this alligator, but not too late for those of us who are well and alive.
I strongly believe every thing happens for a reason, every situation we are faced with can be used as a lesson from which we can learn to make the future better. The last thing I wanted to see was an alligator being eaten by a bunch of birds, but the situation forced me to reflect on my own life and how blessed I am to be alive.
A WONDERFUL REFLECTION....YES, WE ARE BLESSED TO BE ALIVE AND NO MATTER WHAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED IN OUR LIVES...ONE AND ALL SHOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR THE MERCY AND GRACE OF GOD THAT KEEPS US FROM BEING 'EATEN' BY THE 'VULTURES' OF THIS WORLD. I have a strange admiration for nature's clean up crew. There are Turkey Vultures in my area. Lots of deer get hit by cars, the birds clean it up.
