Once upon a time, there was a wonderful woman who had no idea of her own value. She mistakenly believed that if she did enough for others, especially those who did not appreciate her, they would come to realize her worth, and that this in turn would indeed make her worthy.
She worked, she toiled, she allowed abuse, she turned the other cheek...
Eventually, she woke up and began to see that
they
where not addicted to drugs, that it was he, and he alone... and that his choice had been firmly made.
This realization began to set her free.
Her wings began to sprout from the little stumps that had been trying to grow wings for oh-so-long.
One day, she was awake enough, and the marriage- once so precious to her in her magical, fantasy, co-dependent way of thinking - was over.
She spun around and around citing; "I'm free, I'm FREE"
She talked to a friend who had known her through thick and thin, up and down, pain and sorrow, birth and death, and told her the news.
Free by choice, not by chance.
Her friend said tenderly, and so very beautifully the words that prompted her wings to fully unfurl.
She said; "I always knew you were a Butterfly living a bug’s life."
Free to taste the sweetness of life
