The poems here are light, snappy, with a healthy dose of levity. Klipschutz writes with his tongue in his cheek, and at times his foot firmly planted in his mouth. In " from the love poems of Miles Davis.", the poet blows a few good comic riffs, at this "cool" Jazz legend. He pokes fun at Davis's infamous nasty temperament, and terse vocabulary: " Your eyes, blue as a motherfucker/ your lips, soft as a motherfucker/Your hair, long and satiny as a motherfucker./ "Cinematic Affair" skillfully
aims a poetic microscope at the studied posturing we all bring to relationships:

" He disheveled, unemployed
she, cute as a button,
but left unpushed.
Monosyllabic dailogue
always an ashtray on screen,
heaping spoonfulls of dark past
with each cup of coffee."

This collection is a light approach to the dark side of life.
