Tap Your Joyful Inner Child
"Man is most nearly himself when he achieves the seriousness of a child at play."
Heraclitus, Greek philosopher, 535-475 BCE
When is the last time you jumped rope? Blew bubbles? Fingerpainted? Ran around outside in the rain? Decided you wanted to be astronaut? Threw yourself down on the ground and looked up at the clouds? Child’s play. Remember those days?
When you watch a small child play, you witness delight, joy, openness, creativity. A child is not afraid to dream big dreams. A child trusts that he or she will be taken care of.
Tap your inner child today and do something that you used to do as a child. Notice how free and filled with joy you are.
Spend time with babies or small children. If yours are grown or you do not have children, volunteer at a nursery or babysit. If you have small children and are caught up in the laundry , chores, and business of life- take some time out to just be with your kiddos.
Get down on the floor and play.
Let the joy bubble over. Notice that you are refreshed and energized (even if you feel a bit physically exhausted).
