One of the most terrifying concepts in all psychology was developed by Wilhelm Reich around the middle of the last century: 'Dead Orgone' (the anti-life force). It was perhaps Reich's response to Freud's idea of the 'death instinct'. This essay contextualises (and critiques) the concept of DOR in relation to Reich's overall theorising.
