Can we believe what Governor Rick Perry tells us about Texas? We have a right to know the truth.

Rick Perry, Governor of Texas for the past 10 years, publicly called for the secession of Texas from the United States. He gloats over how well Texas did before entering the Union in1845, when it stood alone and how by assuming such posture could again serve Texas well.

What he didn't say is that Texas, is one of the11 Southern states that seceded from the Union after the Civil War began on April 12, 1861 when Confederate batteries opened fire, firing for 34 straight hours, on Union soldiers at Fort Sumter, South Carolina, and the last state to accept the Emancipation Proclamation that would free 30 percent of Texas' population who were slaves until Major General Gordon Granger landed at Galveston, Texas on June 19, (Juneteenth)1865,  {more than two months after Commander Confederate Army General Robert E. Lee surrendred to Ulysses S. Grant, Commander of the Union Army at Appomattox Court House on April 9,1865 ending the Civil War} with Union soldiers and General Order Number 3 in hand which began with these words:
"The people of Texas are informed that in accordance with a Proclamation from the Executive of the United States that all slaves are free. This involves and absolute equality of rights, and rights of property between former slave masters and slaves and the connection therefore existing between them becomes that between employers and free laborers."

If Perry wants Texas to secede from the United States, "bring it on!" My only suggestion is that Texans who support the Union locate in North Texas and those supporting secession locate in South Texas. This would be similar to what happened in Virginia during the Civil War in  1863 when supporters of the Union formed West Virginia out of Virginia. That worked out well. Let me serve notice that if Rick Perry and his military junta physically survive they will not be spared justice in the courts as were Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederacy and Commander Robert E. Lee who were not brought to justice. Of course, it is still not too late to posthumously bring them to trial.

Perry, the Fort Sumter Tea Party mentality candidate, seeking the presidential nomination for the Republican Party has boasted about the economy in Texas, his oppostion to federal Govenment funds for states  and his rejection of federal funds for Texas. What he does not say is that Texas faced with a $6.9  billlion shortfall for the 2010-2011 fiscal year, plugged nearly all of that deficit with $6.4 million in stimulus money, officially known as Recovery Act money. In 2009 the Department of Energy shelled out to Texas $38 million in simulus money for alternative vehicles. Texas got a significant amount of the $787 billion stimulus Recovery Act money.

Although, Perry rejected $555 million in federal stimulus money that would extend Texas' unemployment benefits, he did accept most of the roughly $17 billion slated for Texas in the plan. When Perry rejected the extension of unemployment benefits unemployment in Texas was nearly 8 percent. In 2011 unemployment in Texas is 8.4 percent.

In Addtion to stimulus money the federal government is funding the so-called War on Drugs in Texas. Texas is receiving the second largest amount of money for the so-called War on Drugs which is not a war, but a hoax or scam that is ripping-off American taxpayers, taking money that should be used to help the poor and fund education. It cost the United States $15 billion in 2010 and an equal amount has been allocated for 2011. Directing this so-called War on Drugs is the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). During the last 40 years a trillion dollars have been spent on the so-called War on Drugs. Since 1970 America spent $500 million dollars on the so-called War on Drugs. Much of that money has ended up in Texas.

According to Jack Schumacher, a recent retired Texas-based DEA agent at least half the drug shipments coming from Mexico stops and offload in Texas... - there it is packaged and much of it sent to other states - ... . The DEA warns that traffickers are buying businesses in South Texas. They also spend on guns, warehouses, security guards - and on luxury cars and houses. Mexican middle class and upper class families have moved to Texas." There is no question that without money from the drugs industry Texas unemployment would be at least 10  percent. Oh yes, the amount of money from the sale of guns and other weapons leaving Texas for Mexico is astronomical.

Like the housing boom/disaster, barring a drastic change Perry's Texas is headed for a similar fate. In addition to the Federal Government other states have been fueling Texas' economy. When these states wake-up Texas will not operate as it does at present. Americans, beware of Perry's facade. He is dangerous for Texas and the rest of America. What does race have to do with it? Remember what/who Fort Sumter was and is all   about. The Good Book says, "Let the redeemed say so!"
