I was at Wal-Mart the the other day shopping; as i was coming out the store, a woman "obviously in need" ,asked me if i could afford some change. without giving her a second thought, i said no i had no money on me; and kept on walking.The fact i did not pay with cash, i did not have any change in my hand. At my church that evening , i had to do a presentation; the topic was is there ever a good reason for a Christian to "LIE" so i promptly turn back, open my wallet, and sure enough there was some change in there, which i gave to her and went my way, feeling a little guilty.
My case and point is, as Christians, how many times we lie to others without giving it a second thought. Some of us use to lie before we got saved; and although we are save we still keep on "LYING."
A very Godly person i know told me a story; i was very happy to hear it, and so i rejoice along with this person; i believe this was an answer to prayer; and the Bible says we are to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. But a few short months after, the same story was repeated with a whole different twist. I was shocked.
So i went to the scriptures to see what it says about "LYING" Proverbs 6: 16-19, tells of seven things that God hates, and lying is mentioned twice.
I say this because it is a problem in the body of Christ. Little white lies, or what is called bold face lies; to make one looks good in the sight of other people. When is it ever OK to lie? "never." Psalms 15:2 tells us who will abide in God's presents; those who walk in righteousness and tell the truth.
Ephesians 4:25-32 speaks loud and clear to all who will listen. Lets ask the Holy Spirit to search us. We cannot claim to be born again, and still doing the things that God hates. We have to make a conscious decision to stop Lying; just like smoking, stealing, swearing and so on. Just thought I'd share this. May God bless you.

However, before I close, I'd like to offer this. One day, someone asked me for money to buy food. I had none to give. But I was convicted. God sent me across the street. I used my card to purchase food, snacks, and beverage for that person.
