You woke up that first Christmas morning, and turn on the news. here are some of the head lines;..A well known Politician is charged with fraud. and gross misconduct.( Another fire down town has taken the life of an elderly woman. A young man is fighting for his life in hospital. A young Girl gave birth to a baby boy in a barn outside of the city. Stay tuned for the weather and the news in detail. Would you be shocked ? or would this be just another news cast.Would you give a second thought or just move on as usual?
Now picture this; We were told by the Prophets of old that the Messiah would be born to a virgin; this has been told from generation to generation. Meanwhile we are suffering under the brutal treatment of the Romans; and we are desperately looking for a deliverer.
Lets be practical; many of our Ancestors have gone on , and the brutality continues. So we are hoping that this deliverer would be a young soldier in training somewhere. You did not pay much attention to the young girl who gave birth to a baby boy in the barn. Just another juvenile who ran away from home you say.
Remember we've been told that Messiah would come; we just don't know when or how. Although the Prophets gave the location,we still hope he was already out there in training, waiting for the right time to take over. Instead it happened in the night when everyone was asleep. Well, except a few farmers who were tending their sheep that night. We did'nt see the display of lights or heard what the Angels said.
So you head off to work as usual not giving it a thought; But on your way home, you hear of these two farmers who went to the radio station and told them the story; it was so far fetch that you just had to listen.
The news spread like wild fire the media was in a frenzy as people went to investigate. Headlines was in all the papers in bold letters.
Messiah was born in a Barn "read all about it"
We haven't read any of the Gospels ; well of course not they weren't written yet. The display of lights were gone, the Sun rose in the in the morning and sets in the evening as usual. Meanwhile the farmers went around telling all who would listen to them about their experience.
This is no ordenary Baby "they said". So place yourself in that society in that day. Think long and hard; what would be your response? Well here are the facts; Jesus is coming again; we do not know when; But every eye shall behold him. Don't be caught off gard keep watching and waiting for we know not the day or the hour, when our Lord will come.
Much Love, and Blessings.
