Every individual in this world has his/her own given skills and talents. Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to utilize them. People form third world countries are more susceptible with this scenario. It's no wonder why most people of this archipelago don't get their dream jobs. The main root of it all I'm sure everyone knows is education.
Aside from the rotten system of government, I believe that the lesser means for education is also a reason why Philippines is struggling. This would had been a better country if the educational needs of every citizen is properly met. Lesser priority of the government on education, discouraging number of devoted teachers and lack of moral support from parents are some factors why some students decide to stop studying.
Ravishing stories can support my statements. Diligent youngsters are unable to have college education because of financial instability; they are forced to work instead for the family. Pitiful students have a hard time dealing with courses only their parents wish they take. Even those who did not do good in school are not to blame; they have reasons why they do horrible things and mostly the problem is rooted in the family.
The government, the school and the family are the factors why a Filipino fail to finish education. The government give lesser priority on education. Public schools don't get enough support from the government; poor maintenance for school buildings is a vivid evidence. Government officials might have scholarships, but only few persons benefit from it since it is not well-exposed.
The school influence the students. Unfortunately, some educators fail in becoming role models of the students. There are even those who practice corruption and child abuse. I'm referrring to those who waste school hours, those who favor students in exchange of money or service, and those who do physical or sexual molestation. Teachers should not forget that they are second parents who should give love, care and support to their students instead of tyranny.
Perhaps the greatest factor why a Filipino doesn't achieve is the family specifically the parents. Most failing students have separated or unsupportive parents. Other parents think material things can compensate other needs. Also in my list are promoters of battery and sexual abuse. Parents are to blame why their offsprings grow physically, emotionally and spiritually unhealthy. Work is their common alibi.
I don't know up to when a Filipino would struggle for education. For how long dream jobs only favor the college graduates only time can tell. I don't want to sound negative, but is their really hope for us who wish to obtain a degree in our ripe age? No matter how determined a person may seem, reality suggests that not everyone is favored by luck or fate.
