Writing is just like any other skill. The more you do, the better you'll get.

If you're a writer, then you know how hard it is to get going sometimes. Especially if you're on some kind of deadline imposed by somebody other than yourself. It can be hard, staring at the blank screen and trying to figure out what to say.

When you think about it, writing is like exercise. If you exercise a lot, you'll keep getting better and better. If you start to slack off a bit, that can lead to some diminished skill. Anybody who's struggling with keeping an exercise program knows exactly what I'm talking about. You'll find any excuse possible to stay away from the gym or stay in bed another twenty minutes.

Writing is the same way. In order to keep your game sharp, you've got to write every single day. No excuses, no reasons. Even if you don't have anything to write, or any reason to write, you should still write. This will keep your mind sharp, and your ideas fresh.

Another reason to write every day is because it can dramatically improve your chances of finding some high paying writing gigs.  Especially if you're writing for the sole purpose to publish your work. It doesn't matter where you publish. On your own blog, on an article site like this one, or even as a post in a forum.

The more you publish, the more stuff you can refer people to when they're thinking of hiring you. It will also keep you on track when you're writing. It's one thing to ramble on about whatever pops in your head, knowing nobody is going to read it.

It's quite another to write stuff that you know people will read. For many people, this is frightening. They second guess themselves, write something, imagine how people will think of it, and then quickly delete it, only to go through the same process again and again.

By writing every single day, and publishing what you write somehow, this will give you a lot more confidence. And no matter what kind of business  you're in, or what you're doing in life, having the confidence to express yourself is essential.

When you write something every day, put it out there for everybody to read, then you'll get valuable feedback regarding the quality of your writing. This can lead you to phenomenal growth as a writer. Because many people don't take this step, you'll soon be a better writer than most people who are writing professionally.

Consistent feedback is the key. By writing and publishing every day, that's exactly what you'll get.
