Never More than a Prayer Away

Always is it true that I meet issues in life with fear and anxiety.

Uncertainty and depression live as companions of doom and defeat,

draining my interest and vitality, leaving me in a state of sadness

                                                    and despair.

Feeling ever alone in this world, my challenge is to survive even when

confronted with forces of overwhelming power.  Yet I know that living

life alone stands beyond God’s plan for such a concept of mind and

heart undermines my gift of life with lack of purpose.

So it is that I stood with confusion and lack of conviction, asking in

prayer if the darkness of foreboding shadows is to reign supreme in

my life to its end with no hope for a tomorrow.

In answer to my prayer the lyrical call of a heavenly harp lifted my

eyes, and from the sky above floated down the embracing comfort

of God’s support and love instilling in me the Holy knowledge that life

ends only when you stop dreaming, that hope ends only when you

stop believing, that friendship ends only when you stop sharing, and

that love ends only when you stop caring.

When I dream, when I hope and believe, when I share and care and

love, I live with God’s purpose.  And because of that knowledge, I

know that there is a Holy purpose in my creation and that I am never

alone for God is everywhere and never more than a prayer away.

Yes, living life alone stands beyond God’s plan for such a concept of

mind and heart undermines my gift of life with a lack of stated purpose.

Indeed, there is a purpose in my being.   God has a plan for me.

When I dream, when I hope and believe, when I share and care and

love, I live with God’s purpose for me.  And because of that knowledge,

I know that there is a Holy purpose in my creation and that I am never

alone for God is everywhere and never more than a prayer away.

Richard, this reminds me of deep feelings I've had at particular times in my life. I have come to the conclusion that we are born alone, we live alone (no matter how many people come through our lives, or that we touch) and we die alone---alone, except for the presence of God.

A very profound write, Richard, a bit different from your usual writings, but it definitely is an interesting read. Well done!

I wrote a poem one day that hope and love is only a prayer away. My sediments exactly. Of course, well done....

Peace be with you my friend,
