Allow me to be real for a minute; but everybody in your life does not wish you well. Wow, did that sting a little? Warning: This article may hit home! Keep reading at the risk of your perfect world.
A few years ago I wrote a novel called Black Butterfly about a single mother wrongfully accused of a murder while trying to pursue her dream of becoming an actress (available on Kindle). In the book I explained how the metamorphosis of a butterfly was the symbol for the journey of a dreamer. The caterpillar stage, the cocoon stage, and finally the butterfly stage; which symbolized the freedom of a dream accomplished. The term “black,” in the story, symbolized the blackening of one’s heart from trouble encountered on the journey. Sometimes we find people that have lived an incredible life and been blessed enough to have fulfilled all their dreams; but once on top they build notorious reputations. Can you think of a few famous Black Butterflies because I sure can (Take dat, Take dat… lol!)
Recently, I took a poll of 100 people on Facebook then asked, “Do you have at least one person that you are around on a regular bases, that you know doesn’t wish you well in your endeavors?” The response was one hundred percent yes! When asked the same question about people they considered as friends the response was about seventy-nine percent yes! Wow, talk about negative energy… and you wonder why so many things have fallen through for you. You wonder why opportunities seem to pass you by?
Simply put… It’s the people around you! The negative vibe, energy, or spirit they give to your situation can’t be helpful. Even if you don’t believe in none of that mumbo jumbo, I’m sure you would agree that in certain situations like, getting approved for something you really want, you want every single advantage you can get!
For this my advice is simple; something I’m sure your mother and anyone that really cares about you have already GIVEN YOU A THOUSAND TIMES! “Birds of a feather flock together,” in this context I mean to say that people want to keep you on their level. When you appear to advance, they feel left behind and root against your success. All I’m asking you to do is think about it, and then… make that change! (R.I.P Michael Jackson). -DF/x
