A few weeks ago I attended one of my nieces wedding it was marvelous and very inspiring but my back felt like it was on fire.  After arriving home I thought it would subside only to feel the intensity of the heat, it felt like my back was actually on fire!  I prayed and read the Word but could not find any relief.  Then I heard these words spoken, “In the heat of the battle!” My response out loud, “LORD, my back is on fire!”  The Word spoke to me from Isaiah 43 where the LORD comforted the Church with His promises.  Let’s read the first two verses of Isaiah 43.  (1)”But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.”  (2)”When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” Abba Father revealed to me that I was engaged in a battle much higher than I could ever imagine and that I was using the wrong artillery.  My focus was too much on the burning in my back.  The LORD reminded me of how King David had sent a letter with specific instructions to have Uriah, the Hittite put on the front line of the hottest battle so that he would be killed instantly.  This was done to cover up his sin with Bathsheba and her pregnancy.  Bathsheba was Uriah’s wife.  In other words King David ordered a hit on Uriah’s life.  Let’s read it from 2 Samuel 11:14-18 (14)”And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.” (15)”And he wrote in the letter, saying, set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that  he may be smitten, and die.”  (16)”And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were.”  (17)”And the men of the city went out and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.”  (18)”Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war;”

Take a few minutes to think about where you are on your Journey take a view through Yahweh perspective everything He has allowed to touch your life.  Lately just may be you have been feeling the intensity of the heat of the battle that continues to rage on.  All of which was solidly built in your life may now be falling apart.  You may never understand why yet you are in the heat of the battle.  I stopped by to tell you just as God stepped in and sent His servant Nathan to King David and unraveled to him all the evil he had done to Uriah, the Hittite.  He is even now divinely intervening on your behalf in the heat of the battle.  Yahweh will not allow you to perish in the heat of the battle; He has come to rescue you with a strong hand!  Could it be though that the kingdom of darkness has been sending out hits against those who are shining the Light of Jesus Christ?

At the wedding reception for my nieces wedding I could hardly pay attention, my back felt like it was on fire nevertheless I tried very hard to maintain my composure.  Before retiring to bed that night, I felt constrained to have a look at my back in the mirror and to my horror my back was red and looked inflamed.  The Word spoke this time from the book of Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” I went upon my bed but could not get any sleep because the fire in my back had grown worse.  I was in the heat of the battle and needed divine intervention.  The Word spoke directly to me from Psalm 53:4 which express the depravity of mankind.  (4)”Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge?  Who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.” It was at this point I began to really cry out to Yahweh to divinely deliver me from the heat of the battle and at 1:20 a. m. the fire in my back ceased!  Praise the LORD!  I encourage you to always stand on the Word of God despite what your circumstances look like and how you might be feeling.  Yahweh will not allow you to perish in the heat of the battle!
