Have we truly connected with the power of God, during the difficult times or have we taken God for granted, while we continue to get caught up in our problems?

Dear Reader… Today, as I’ve been spending some one-to-one time with God, my thoughts began to focus on how we can easily become so familiar with God; that we begin to take His power and strength for granted. The problem with this; is that we end up turning inwardly for the answers, instead of turning in the direction of a powerful God. Let’s face it…if we can’t see God, as someone that is more powerful than ourselves; then why would we ever believe that He is the only one strong enough, to easily rid us of our problems. I remember a time in my own life, when I began to focus too much on the pain and the many surgeries that I was experiencing; that my thoughts began to turn inwardly, as I focused more on a cure, rather than what God could do through these difficult moments. Yes…we still need to seek a physician but I have found that when I allowed the power of a mighty God to step in and work, with what the doctors were attempting to do; that is when I began to not only experience the power of a mighty God but these moments also helped me to turn to God more, which also helped in other areas of my life. In Ecclesiastes 7:13, we read…“Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?” Why do we allow our thoughts to get sidetracked, when it comes to seeing God, as an awesome God? Is it that we become too familiar with Him…like we do with others or is it that we become too caught up in what we’re going through; that we have unknowingly made our circumstance more powerful; then how we once viewed God? How is it that we see God, as less then what He really is, while going through these difficult times in our lives? Maybe it is time for us to sit back and focus on who God really is? When I look out my office window and see the clouds passing by or when I see nature change around me, I can’t help but feel that there is someone more powerful than myself…controlling everything that concerns me. I truly believe that when we can come to see God’s power, as something that we have never experienced before in our lives; then I know that this will be the moment, when we will begin to see God as a higher power…a powerful God that can make each crooked path straight…just with the touch of His mighty hand.
