We ran from the bear, and to the guns.

Doctor Swigmon Fwad, Kiwi

The Bear

In the medical profession they say, “Physician heal thyself,” in the courtroom a lawyer who defends himself has “A fool for a client,” in psychology I suppose those who analyze and diagnose themselves are employed by madmen…or not?

In any event, I should like to tell you something and see what you think.

The dream you are about to read is real. There were no names so none needed to be changed.

My Dream
I seemed to be back in the days of Grizzly Adams, in a hunting lodge consisting of several log cabins. It was winter but there was no snow. Two men and a woman were there but only so that I was not alone. I knew none of them. Usually they were shadowy figures. One of them had a bear, a big grizzly. Most of the time the bear was gruntled yet did not seem to like me. I said something it found offensive and it became disgruntled.

Soon it was enraged and reverted back to its wild demeanor. It began to chase us. We ran in all directions with the bear hot on our heels. We had rifles but could not get to them. The bear got there first and threw them about. Each time we would get close to one the bear would arrive first.

We ran from the bear, and to the guns. If the bear got us he would kill us, and if we got the guns we would kill the bear. We ran very hard but could not get away from the bear, or to the rifles. This went on for quite sometime.

Suddenly we were all standing outside the doorway of one of the cabins. The bear was inside tearing it up. We were completely exhausted and could run no further. We knew we were done for.

All at once the bear was standing upright in the doorway passing out our long coats which it was holding in its arms. It had gotten very cold and we hadn’t noticed.

But the bear did.

A few moments later I woke up and said, “Wow! What a delightful dream!”

So, what do you think?

Swigmon Out,
Bye George
