“You better write this down.”

To say that Aunt Gertie and Uncle Clyde are a bit senile could be construe d as an over understatement.

One night, while watching television, Uncle Clyde got out of his chair and headed for the kitchen.
Aunt Gert, “Where are you going, Clyde?”
“To get some ice cream!”
“Oh, I love ice cream! Will you bring me some?”
“What kind do you want?”
“You better write this down.”
“I can remember! What do you want?”
“Write it down! You know how forgetful you are!”
“I’ll remember! Just tell me what you want!”
“Two scoops of vanilla!”
“I can remember that! Two scoops of vanilla!”
“With chocolate syrup!”
“With chocolate syrup!”
“And nuts!”
“And nuts!”
“And swirl some whipped cream all over it!”
“Whipped cream all over it!”
“And, a cherry on top!”
“Cherry on top!”
“You better write it down!”
“Is that all?”
“Yes! Write it down...you’ll forget! You always forget!”
“I’ll remember.”
For the next half-hour he could be heard banging around in the kitchen. He caused quite a commotion, opening doors, clanging pots and pans, all sorts of kitchen noises. When he finally came back he stood before Aunt Gert with a big smile on his face.
“Here you are!” he said.
He was holding a plate containing eggs, sausage, home fries, toast, butter, and jelly.
Aunt Gert looked at him and shook her head, “I told you to write it down, I knew you’d forget!”
“What’s wrong?”
“Where’s my bacon?”

Ain’t they cute!
