a statement like that is only good until it isn’t, so I keep it alive by not speaking it.

6 AUG 2018
EVERYTHING IS ALL THAT MATTERS

Professor Penwose, Kiwi

Good evening,

A gentleman wiser than I once mentioned that I have a story for everything. The statement although profound is something I do not take lightly and flaunt even less.
If I were to “put it out there,” whoever and whomever would offer, “How about this?” or “How about that?”
Sooner or later I would be confounded and a statement like that is only good until it isn’t, so I keep it alive by not speaking it.
Nevertheless it is not entirely without merit.
Take last night for instance…

As “Thinner” was broadcast on the tele, I realized a bit of a coincidence as I had spoken of gypsies earlier in the day and there they were.
I was used to seeing them driving rounded wagons drawn by horses, however these were transported by hearse, which I suppose was Stephen King’s way of making them appear omnibus.

Please forgive my use of omnibus, but that used to drive Lady Di crazy when I used it in place of ominous. She was my wife by marriage and now defunct yet I still enjoy using it for “Old times sake.”

Seeing the hearse took me back to my childhood days. The family of a friend of mine owned a used car lot and his father had taken two old hearses in on trade. We enjoyed riding around in them harassing everyone but quickly found out…you cannot pick up girls riding in a hearse…
Unless they were dead…in which case why would you want to pick them up?
We did try to make a few quid by hiring ourselves out for funerals but my friend could not stand the sight of dead people.
We painted things on them like, “You Stab Em, We Slab Em!” and “Drop Dead, Business is Bad!”
Eventually the police made us “remove the artwork.”
They were amusing!…and that is my story on that occasion.

Penwose Out,
Bye George
