Speaking of dogs…

4 SEP 2018
Professor Penwose, Kiwi

I like poached eggs…but how do you poach an elephant?

I must apologize, that line has nothing to do with what I’m going to do. At a latter date I may write about it…or not!

In reference to my latest previous article, I would like to add that when doing my daily stroll again I saw the dead mouse still there as before. I really don’t know why as I already counted its fingers? I think it is safe to say it is not sleeping. I thought we had scavenger type critters who do away with such things? If it is still there today I should probably call someone. Why do I always have to do the dirty work?

Speaking of dogs…
Does anyone really care what’s in their dog’s food? It’s Dog Food.
The only way I’m going to care what’s in it is if I’m eating it, and I haven’t deviated to that point yet although some of those ingredients sound rather tasty.
To be honest I very seldom check the ingredients in my own food.

Commercial Tele scene…
Two ladies sit on a sofa with big bags of dog food on their laps. One asks the other what type of dog food she buys?
“Oh my dog loves Kibbles and Bibbles! I’ve been feeding it to him for years!”
“Did you ever check the ingredients?”
This is where she should say, “El No! Who cares?”
But she doesn’t, she reads the ingredients on the bag.
“What’s your first ingredient?”
“Ribo Flavin, whatever that is?”
“Mine’s is deboned chicken. What’s your next ingredient?”
“Monasodium Gludimate?”
“Mine’s is Whole Grain Cage Free Corn.”
They go through both lists with the first lady’s dog, who was sitting beside her the whole time, feeling really sad as though he understood what was happening, and the other dog doing flips.
“I’m going to switch to your brand!”

Did you ever actually see anybody in your life doing that? Those bags are so heavy I’m lucky I can lift them let alone read the ingredients.

Here’s the part that matters. The first lady said her dog has been eating the same stuff for YEARS and is doing fine. Why change?

And another thing, why take advice from someone who doesn’t even know what color a buffalo is?

Dogs will eat anything. My dog eats table scraps.
When I was married my wife was the worst cook ever, and we had the fattest dog.
He was my best friend in those days!
Which dog food brand does he prefer? The one that’s in his bowl.
If I wanted a cat I would not have bought a dog.

I asked 10 different dogs which dog food they preferred and gave them a taste. They all said they could not decide until they ate the whole bag.

Dogs love being a part of their human pack and will eat whatever their human pack members are eating. But we must remember that they come from wolves and are therefore, raw meat eaters and scavengers. Table scraps are very bad for dogs and a fat dog is a very sick dog.

I read once that dog food is made from gullets of animals slaughtered for human consumption. Humans don't buy gullets but dogs love them. When your dog is eating grass, it is normal because the dog is missing something in its diet that grass provides.

Bye, George
