The future looks bright for ALL THE GUYS…

BIG BANG

Are there any BIG BANG THEORY voyeurs in the audience? I imagine you are sad to here this is their final year.
Do you think they will finally fix the elevator?
That is actually a not so unique final episode scenario. I’m sure just about everyone has thought of it.
There are many ways to do it that are less not so unique. Take my way for instance…
As you know I tend to lean toward the bizarre in my sitcoms. Here is how I would handle it…

The future looks bright for ALL THE GUYS…
Howard is asked to go back into space as a team leader…
Raj gets a job at The Home For Unwed Nymphomaniacs…
Leonard grows a foot, (higher, not a third one,)
And Sheldon is to be knighted by The Queen, after proving The Big Bang is not a theory.

They all walk into the hallway babbling about their lives.
Leonard sees there is no tape on the elevator, “Look, they fixed the elevator!”
Raj, “Let’s take it!”
Howard, “Do you think it’s safe?”
Sheldon, “Probably not, we didn’t fix it, but then again that’s probably a good reason to take it.”

They push the button…The doors open…They step in together not paying attention…and fall screaming!

Epilog
Penny and Stewart stand in hallway by elevator…
Penny, “It’s a bit ironic.”
Stewart, “What do you mean?”
Penny, “All those years they traipsed up and down those stairs only to fall to their deaths the first time they tried to use the elevator.”
Stewart, “I suppose that is ironic.”
Penny, “Yeah, It all ended with a Big Bang.”

That’s the way I’d do it!

I left sitcoms and their canned or prompted audience laughter with All in the Family. So, I never watched The Big Bang Theory. Perhaps now, if I ever have time on my hands, I can go back and watch the whole thing as recommended by my geek high school genius friend who left his astrophysicist studies his junior year in college for photography. Actually, as a member of the Air Force, his degree in photography came in very handy because he at least twice prevented the Cold War from becoming hot and was able to dispel all the rumors and conspiracy theories about UFOs as actually objects well known but not discussed.

So, I can lend nothing to your discussion except that you have piqued my interest and I will see what these characters without an elevator will be doing, perhaps, in a future life. BTW, at our university, a young man in the student union was fornicating with another student in the lounge when surprised by campus police. He ran naked into the hallway and into the second floor elevator with the door open that was being worked on. There was no elevator and he fell to the basement. Luckily, there was 6 feet of water in the elevator well and that saved his life. There must be a moral here, somewhere, for that young man certainly met and had the biggest bang of his life! ;-)

Bye, George,

Ron

Very droll, Geo. I am myself a fan of that series and it is one of the few appearing on TV that really draw me near true hilarity. I suppose I recognise in all the characters, various elements of the nerdish proclivities I possess myself. The writers for 'BIG BANG' are extremely clever individuals, starting with the name of the series itself, since in addition to wishing to solve the quantum puzzles surrounding the universe's origins, the main characters all desperately want their own personal 'big bangs'. When I was young, I was a big sci-fi fan (never a TREKKIE, however...YUK!), attending conventions, publishing fanzines and what have you. I well recall how fervently we all wished & hoped for a few reasonably good-looking femme-fans to show up for the costume contests. Sigh. Things change, but yesterday's sci-fi is today's comic book and gamer scene, highlighting the verity of that wonderful French saying: "Plus les choses changent, plus elles restent les mêmes." Thanks for this jollity! I really needed some today! PS: My rock climbing partner at the UC Berkeley Hiking Club back in the 70s was a theoretical physics grad student, who abruptly switched majors (just short of getting his PhD) to ballet (true story). Gaak! I never will understand that! :P
