I was looking for a definition in Dictionary.com when I noticed their Word of the Day…”Tintinnabulation”…
Are you kidding me? What the hell kind of word is that?
I looked for a definition…”the ringing or sound of bells.”
They had an example…
“I walked as fast as possible toward the far-off tintinnabulation of the bells.”
It sounds like a good word for The Holidays, but really…when have you ever heard that word mentioned with bells?
What kind of idiot would invent such a word?
It means ringing or sound of bells, so why not just say ringing or sound of bells?
If you use that word, rest assured by the time the population finds out what it means the bells would have ceased Tintinnabulating.
“By Jove, I believed they have stopped ringing!”
Everytime I see the “Word for the Day” it is something like that. The words are no good. Nobody but you will know what they mean.

Then there is Pathetic…A word that means pitiful, causing or evoking pity, sympathetic sadness, sorrow, etc….a whole slew of deplorable meanings that paints the subject as drivel.
All we have to do is ad an A and we don’t even care anymore…
Apathetic…having or showing little or no emotion: not interested or concerned.
Therefore If a fellow should call you Pathetic, simply toss him an A…
Don’t be afraid to ad a couple s’s.
