I do not like redos, but...

Are you in conjunction with any writers of westerns? If so please pass this along to them freely.

The Magnificent 7 is revered among the immortal western genders of which I fancy. There have been sequels of lesser vintage. In truth, that should be the definition of sequel.

I do not like redos, however someone needs to dig up Yul Brenner and make another one. A story along the same lines as the first. Not a sequel but a camouflaged remake. The main concept is to have a scene where Yul and his men are confronting the Mexicans.

The original, and all of the rest, neglected a wonderful line that would be in Hollywood Folklore had it been used.

Mexican village, day…
Yul Brenner stands with his 6 men, on foot facing millions of Mexicans on horseback.

I do not know what kind of budget they will be working with, but if they could also dig up Eli Wallace, he would be perfect in the roll of himself.

The Mexican leader, (Whoever he is,) looks down at Yul and his men standing defiant before him.

Here comes the line…

Eli, “I see only 7 standing before me and all of my men. You must think you are pretty good.

Yul, “Not just good…MAGNIFICIENT!”

Remember where you heard it first.

I'm sure we would have to "dig up" Eli Wallach, he died in 2014. But that line is a good one, right up there with, "Badges, we don't need no stinkin' badges!" Or the even more infamous, "Why you scum-suckin', pig… I tear you arms out!"

Bye, George,

Rod
