Unconscionable Programming
Do you think television programmers are getting too much sleep or too little hours awake? Validity in both areas is indicated. The reverse is also the opposite.
Take last night for instance…
FBI…A very good new show teething its bleeding gums, barely a year old and hoping for a long life. Early indications indicate survival expectations are to be expected with favorable results especially due to the demise of Criminal Minds. I for one have tired ages ago of hearing about The Unsubs.
Sink Me if I ever say, “I was accosted by an Unsub.”
The expression is not even found within a dictionary of terms used by proper speaking Englishmen.
Where were we? Oh Yes…We have a new show about the FBI entitled FBI. Well…I must say they seem to have hit the nail on the head with that clever moniker.
Next in line for the evening, just before the news, which usually has a much greater assortment of evil doings, is FBI: Most Wanted.
Are you kidding Me?
Is the FBI so flooded with crime that they can support two prime time shows one after the other, as Criminal Minds still runs?
Does anyone consider how the party of the first part must feel about the party of the second part pursuing suspects deemed, “Most Wanted” while theirs are just “Wanted.”
It is a low blow and one hard to swallow particularly so close in order where viewers are free to compare and evaluate inferior techniques.
I wonder if the caste of FBI would consider it an upgrade to be transferred to Most Wanted? Does someone who shoots himself in the foot on Most Wanted get degraded to FBI?
Last night I watched both shows and must say I did not find the second show any more wanted then the first. Both seemed rather unorganized and if preference was questioned I would choose to watch Criminal Minds, (Even with unsubs,) which the clever producers have already dumped.
What I find unconscionable is when the program lineup tells me that it is a brand spanking "new" show and when I get into it, find out that I saw it last year… Groan.
I watched Quantico morph into a cult sabotaging the world and bringing it to an end. And The Blacklist turning into an endless list of nefarious leftovers from the KGB nicely already known by an arch criminal conspirator. I've had enough of the FBI.
So I started watching Seal Team shows. They are sexier and have more wanton bloody killing of unknown foreign bad guys. I've been watching two shows with the same name on different channels. One is better than the other. The fictional one is better than the historical one. Proving that fiction is better than real life when it comes to wanton killing. Why we all want to live our lives in fiction.
I have started watching Project Blue Book and getting really neck-deep in bullshit.
