I've wondered about that?

Headline
DID WE MISHEAR NEIL ARMSTRONG’S FAMOUS FIRST WORDS ON THE MOON?

On July 20, 1969, an estimated 650 million people watched in suspense as Neil Armstrong descended a ladder towards the surface of the Moon.

As he took his first steps, he uttered words that would be written into history books for generations to come:
“That’s one small step for man. One giant leap for mankind.”

I’ve often wondered about that?

In that context man and mankind are the same thing…man, (meaning mankind.)
I considered the gravity of the situation, and since there was less of it there than on earth, I figured he was probably suffering from “Brain Float.”
Everyone was happy, (except those who think it was a scam,) so I considered it no further.

Now this article surfaces where he stated he was misstated.

Armstrong insisted that he actually said,
“That’s one small step for “A” man.”

Now That makes sense!

I guess since we are correcting past faux pas, we are now able to unclassify classified material. I’m doing this on my own so if any repercussions vibrate from it, remember I am a fictitious character.

As the orbiter circled the moon looking for a suitable landing site they saw what looked like a body, which would mean we were not the first.
They landed close to it and Armstrong went to investigate.
His very first words were actually, “It’s Alice Kramden!”

Penwose Out,

So, The Honeymooners were the first ones to land on the moon! Now I know why. You are very insightful. Starting a sentence with "a man," or "man," makes no difference to me. There are those who insist that the whole thing was was a hoax filmed in the desert of the Southwest United States. And then again, some people are as dumb as doorknobs. They are the ones who are likely to believe this hogwash.

When 10 men walked on the moon, literally another small planet, we had reached a milestone in human history that is just becoming realized and scaring the religious and otherwise ill-informed to death with the possibility. So be it, let them die from fright. There is nothing dangerous or deadly from knowledge.

Bye, George,

Ron
