Two nights ago Lawrence O’Donnell (The Last Word, MSNBC) brought this nugget of enlightenment to my attention. He said that researchers revealed this aspect of how viruses are spread: He noted that a sneeze can create winds that are propelled from a person’s mouth with an initial velocity of 200 mph. That speed is faster than a golf ball being launched by Dustin Johnson, the longest pro golfer in the game. Note: DJ can smash that little spheroid 370 yards, even farther on a good day. Now, hold that thought.
O’Donnell also noted that it takes 1,000 virus spores to infect an innocent bystander. How safe is that bystander from the sneeze of an infected person? Well, one sneeze from an infectee can project 200 million virus spores! Holy shit balls! Now consider that we are asked to stand a mere 6 feet away from that sneezer to be out of his or her social safety zone. I don’t know about you, but the next person who sneezes who is NOT wearing a safety mask and is within 50 feet of me is going to hear the loudest shriek since Jane grabbed Tarzan’s testicles whilst they were swinging from tree to tree.

Yes, from personal experience I have known a sneeze coming on that could not be stopped and I thought would blow the top of my head off if it weren't for the ability to spray "spores" at least 20 feet away, like High Noon on a dusty Western town street. More deadly than a black powder propelled bullet.
