Basically, it's this: Wade Linwood, who has been suffering from crossed senses all his life and trying to ignore it, goes to the acupunturist to treat a pain in his wrist. The treatment opens an unused portal in his brain that sends him back to the 9th century. As strange as that is already, nothing is as it seems. He has in fact, been summoned to the past by his destined female counterpart, and helped there by someone who wants to assassinate them both.
