Pittsburgh Takes Another Knife In The Back
If you’re a Pittsburgher, try not to snicker.
Recently I watched an ancient black/white film from The Old Days (1946) featuring The Marx Brothers.
The only one who made any sense was Harpo, and he never talked. Chico never knew what was going on, and Groucho walked around like he had a diaper full of…well, you know.
In an inspiring scene Groucho was having a bit of a smit with a woman, who is now presumably dead. She had a long cigarette, and Groucho one of his trusty cigars.
They were blowing smoke in each other’s faces.
After a short while, with the room filled with smoke, Groucho said,
“This is like living in Pittsburgh…If you can call that living.”
You would think by now that would be a famous line?
