Personal opinion on the Conditions in the New World Order, Social Commentary, The Coronavirus Pandemic
I’m cognizant of all things detrimental to peaceful times and solutions for mankind to live in a world rife with consternation and ill-will. I’m sure my Lord is not happy with how man is not compliant to He who sustains them. He that is omnipotent who sees all can only hark back to the beginning…He gave Adam and Eve a perfect paradise for purposeful emanations. The fall of man put us in dire straits and put into play redeeming factors that forced us to be obedient as saving grace for admittance to a reunion with Him. But do we really deserve it? When will we stop being stiff-necked and recalcitrant to adhere to His will? Will we be ready before probation is closed…too late to make elections and callings surest? I write this essay with a heavy heart where lament is imminent, hoping for resolve. I console myself by reading and adhering to Scripture, especially Psalms 91. Its message is profound and easily conforms to signs of the times. I’m concerned about a new world order that has engulfed us, causing disruption, confusion, and death in many cases, and how vulnerable we and ignorant of facts. Pandemics will do that…so would fear that some have used to control and manipulate with all kinds of rhetorical action, including false information, innuendo, and fake news. Masked or unmasked (when it’s appropriate to be so) has mandates that force us to be understanding of why we’re in this state. I’m concerned about the nature of a biased nation and how those who perpetrate it are supporting hidden whims and blatant actions undermining equal parity where the scales of racism are still unbalanced. We know that the man currently sitting in the White House days are numbered. I’m a history buff and have always considered our 17th President, Andrew Johnson as the worst. Could anybody else do worse? He and our 45th are similar and share traits that are not conducive to uniting a nation and justice for all. As a Black man I feel at times it’s just us that are being victimized, the Black Lives Matter Movement notwithstanding. Then there’s concern about the leadership of this country, or lack of it. Three score and a few years hence, is my longevity on this earth; I’m sure God has endowed me with a sense of purpose to be able to write things down and make them plain. The Scribe that I am will never waiver nor give reason for me not to do otherwise. Research and knowledge are my bailiwicks for good reports, but it is the wisdom that I continually seek that galvanizes the truths for my self, family and community. Even the concerns with the aforementioned cause me to refrain from throwing caution to the wind. What then, are YOU concerned about…coronavirus aside, what are some of the situations that make you be cognizant of your disposition being maligned?
Let’s get back to Psalms 91. The theme of the Psalm is explicitly rendered in the very verse: “Whoever dwells in the shelter off the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” I look at this scripture as an extremely powerful missive that serves as a protective entity during hard times, or a prayerful homily for us who have taken, or need to take shelter in the Lord. It’s a safe place for refuge under His wings. Also personal to me how it taught me to put my trust in the Lord. I happen to believe in verse 10 that says, “No arm will come to you; no plague will come near your tent.” It’s all about trust and obedience to understand my illness and suffering. Oh, how significant if mankind would be cognizant of embracing what David knew to be true ! In the true essence of Davidic lore, it acts as a spiritual bow and arrow that should carry us straight to the heart of God who loves men generically, and David specifically after His own heart. Moreover, Paul knew what time it was. He lamented in Romans 8:35, 37 that, “Who would separate us from the love of what Christ has for us? Will the hardships we face, the distress that is unavoidable; will persecution be forever the norm, will famine persist in this time of pandemic need, will we continue to be naked in truth; or perils due to other social ills that plagues us? The answer is an emphatic NO! In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” I’ve always felt that God favors those of us who show complete faith in His ability to look after the faithful. Dangerous liaisons are all around us, a real presence for mankind. This should further appeal to the universal plight of our existence, which is felt at all times and in all places —various degrees of longing of need, of want, that only a spiritual God can satisfy.
What can we learn from this important Psalm? In my opinion, it’s God’s way of admonishing us that whoever runs to Him seeking His divine protection will be saved from this world and its destruction. How profound is this? Although God promised protection, it doesn’t mean that we won’t suffer anymore. It’s all about how obedient we can be, how vigilant we can be turning the other cheek to adversity. It’s no secret that we’re in the End Times where due diligence should not be a second choice. The lamentations I feel are real…so real that I can’t afford to tarry by the wayside without rhyme or reason.
