Man Alive when living in higher consciousness is in the Full Life Process where he is able to live life to the full.
Man Alive is a spiritual being and this is true whether he is living in lower consciousness or higher consciousness. The lower level of consciousness is negative. Higher consciousness is spiritual awareness that in the present transcends the mind's natural preoccupation with the past and the future. It is ever-increasing awareness of the meaning of existence. And it is the state in which man was created to live, move and have his being. Unlike other animals man has a soul and like God he has self-awareness, a mind and the potentiality for creativeness.
Man Alive in his lower consciousness state is characterized by:
Guilt of his past
Fear in the present
Anxiety about the future.
In this lower state of consciousness Man Alive has been described by M.F.A Montagu in this manner.
"The secular experience of humanity during the last 2000 years, the internecine wars, the bloodshed, plunder and treachery, the general inhumanity of man to man has in almost every way confirm the view of the natural depravity of man."
Man Alive has the potential to possess and be possessed by higher consciousness. Higher consciousness, to repeat, is spiritual awareness that in the present transcends the mind's moral preoccupation with the past and the future. It is God-consciousness, even when it is not called by that name.
The prescription for achieving higher consciousness is presented in these three Bible verses that focus on fhe past, present and future. Man Alive is admonished to:
Remember the past
Remember the days of old, consider the generations long past. Ask your father, and he will tell you. Inquire of your elders, and they will tell you. Deuteronomy 32.7
Celebrate the present
This is the fay the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
Imagine the future
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29;11
Man Alive living in the state of higher consciousness is being kind, doing good, having sufficient resources, health and peace..Indeed, Man Alive in the state of higher consciousness is the "light of the world," "salt of the earrh" and a "witness of the goodness of God" that the Creator is to be glorified. Higher consciousness living is the bettrer way or best way to live. It is the Full Life Process - life to the full.

Just this past week one of my caregivers told me I wouldn't be able to hire another "who would work the work." In a fluke, I drove my wheelchair to a neighbor's home because her son told me she was a "nurse." She told me instead that she was a caregiver in need of work like I have. So far she has turned out to be just what I needed and exceeding any expectations.
The only thing I would object to is the statement that animals do not have souls. Animals have good memories, they learn, and I believe they plan what they are going to do. They are guided much by survival animal instinct, but I wouldn't say they have no souls. Whales communicate with one another over thousands of miles undersea.
