The Word of GOD speaks to spark and ignite faith in the Believer to be persistent despite the hindrance or sabotage of the enemy.

 DIG ANOTHER WELL

Recently, I was working on a project and searching for a scripture that related to rivers and the flow, when I was led to this passage in Genesis 26:11-22. As I began to read, the words ‘dig another well’ caught my attention as if they were speaking to me. There is a scripture that says that the word spoken to you is spirit and life. “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit[a] and life.” John 6:63 NIV.

In this passage it is stated that Isaac prospered during the famine, and it was even in the land of the enemy. One verse says that he “got richer and richer by the day until he as very wealthy.” Genesis 26:13 MSG. The key was that he sowed in that land and he received a huge harvest. Just because there is a famine or talk of a famine, do not stop sowing into the kingdom of God. His way of doing things has always confounded the wise. 1 Corinthians 1:27.

Even though he had possession of great flocks and several servants, Isaac lacked what was most important for survival, a well. In ancient times, ownership of a well was about more than water as it was essential to the community in the desert. Wells also represented authority and were inherited through generations.

The wells that Abraham had dug were stopped up by the enemy. Jealousy and envy turned into intimidation because of Isaac’s prosperity. At the first well, the enemy told Isaac that he was too powerful to be among them. The clash with the enemy has revealed Isaac’s true status of greatness. The enemy will recognize your greatness even if you do not!

Isaac moved to dig in the wells that his father, Abraham had dug. Digging in those places did not require an amount of faith, because it was his father’s well. He was digging in the familiar places. Everywhere he dug was clogged by the enemy. You may think that the enemy has closed your well to hinder and frustrate the purpose of God, but new territory is awaiting your faith for the increase.

Actually, there should be a thank you for the clash, because you are being redirected to the bigger because where you are is too small for you and your purpose. As long as you stay where you are not required to dig deeper into your faith, it will remain small.

Digging in the new places, there was still contention. The first well, the name of the well was quarrel. In this new place, the well was springing water, even though the herdsmen disputed and contended for possession. Moving to dig another well, Isaac named the well accusation. But no matter the plan of the enemy, where he dug it was evident that God was with him.

The last well that was dug, Isaac named it Rehoboth. He said, “For now the Lord hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.” Genesis 26:22. One says that God has given plenty of space. It is wide open spaces.

Are you ready to dig a new well? How about using your faith for the New Thing well? The requirement is that you forget about the past which has already come to pass and use your faith for the new. What about a Not Yet Done well? You dig in faith for what is still to come, the secret thing that is hidden deep.

The digging is about your faith to go beyond the limits. You want to go beyond what the eye had not seen, or that which the ear may have heard. Your faith is gold! Dig another well so that you can be astonished, in wonder to the point of being speechless. Opening your mouth to give your testimony, you will only be able to speak the name with three letters, GOD.

When trouble surrounded me, I cried out to the Eternal; He answered me

and brought me to a wide, open space.

 Psalm 118:5 Voice

Enlarge your house. You are going to need a bigger place;         don’t underestimate the amount of room that you’ll need. So build, build, build.

Isaiah 54:2 Voice

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith, disclosed in a way that awakens more faith. As it is written and forever remains written, “The just and upright shall live by faith.”

Romans 1:17 AMP
