My thoughts on how people react to things and one another.
When things come that we are unable to control we sometimes forget to ask for strength and frequently press for OUR will to be done. Getting OUR way isn't what life is or should be! Life is about change and our adaptions to the challenges of it.
With good comes that which is not good (but not necessarily evil) yet all things/events shape us. Therefore, isn't it important for us to acknowledge both?
Health and prosperity are taken for granted until we have neither. The same applies for love, family, country and so many other things. It doesn’t matter when we have it, but we definitely raise cain when we don’t!
If it wasn't for the occasional (sometimes all too frequent) BAD things, would we care about anything? Is being complacent a good thing? Should we consider the alternative . . . being aware of changes . . . or wait until we’ve no other choice but to deal with adversity?
A friend said recently that our tomorrows are like our todays . . . only longer. I honestly hope not! My today isn't like my yesterday so why should my tomorrow be. Each day I strive to remember the Serenity Prayer: God grant me the ability to change the things I can change, the ability to accept the things I cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference.
There is no guarantee that tomorrow will dawn for any of us. There's only today--use it or lose it!
We can moan and groan about the ills done against us but what do we gain by that? Usually we only make ourselves more miserable . . . not to mention those around us suffering too.
I prefer to think and do positive things. If faith can move mountains (and I believe it can) then positive thinking is a miniscule accomplishment with enormous benefits.
We are not just flesh and bones but spirits as well with souls that live long after the housing unit has been condemned to the earth's busom. I want mine to leap out of the pits of dispair . . . not just then but now while I can enjoy the exhilerating adventure with friends and loved ones.
I'm only human and make mistakes, trust me on that, but dreams don't fill me. Instead they fuel me into action. I see, I speak, I do but always keeping the consequences of each in the back of my conscious. Aware of them, I can measure how far to press things. Also aware of the differences among people--faiths, cultures, sexes, etc.--I'm careful not to offend.
If tomorrow is on the horizon for me, it will be an entirely new beginning . . . not a repeat. Yesterday taught me something new and today will also. I thirst for the new experience tomorrow (and each day thereafter) will bring. I will grow with this new knowledge to become a better person not just for myself but for those who surround me--both those whom I follow and those whom I guide.
Yesterday I was ignorant of something, small as it might be, which enlightened me today. I give thanks for it as each day is a gift . . . a challenge . . . and eagerly await the changes that tomorrow may bring. Don't you?
