The "South" and those beautiful southern plantation homes - a part of southern history during a time of controversy..............
A SOUTHERN PLANTATION: Massive columns of marble composed of polished crystalline limestone rise up into the aqua sky. The motif of pure white shutters hanging from red clay brick with ruffled lace curtains blowing aimlessly with the breeze. Assortments of red and yellowish roses , snapdragons of blue and white and marigolds of orange and yellow inline with footprints to a grand entrance. Magnolias of dark-green foliage with waxy flowers of a creamy-pink color; weeping willows and sassafras trees blowing In the wind choked by flowerless dense clusters of moss. The constant sound of insects steal the air. A dreadful cry of a whippoorwill in the distance. The howling of the hunting dog and sounds of soul in the cotton fields. Dust storms erupting in summer’s heat. Children of color playing in the meadow. The smell of freshly-baked bread in the air. An evening sun dissolving in the western sky. Fires of the night burning…. A southern plantation quietness………………….
