I have been active in about every field of art.  Hey, I even play a little harmonica. After being discharged from the Navy in 1954, I returned to Mattoon, IL and soon became a member of the Mattoon Fire Dept.  My work schedule, 24hrs on and 48hrs off let me engage in all sorts of avocations, and believe me, I tried quite a few.  I was the official sign painter for the Cal Ripken Jr. World Series that was held in our city in 2002. I, and my family, designed and built Mattoon's first public golf course. I owned and operated 'Applause Recording Studio' and was a member of the Country Music Association, and the Nashville Songwriters Association. I have a website that recounts my time in the music world.  After my son took his band on the road, I closed up the studio and returned to signpainting once more.  For the last three years I have been writing full time and have two books in print, and my Korean War Memoirs have been published by the Korean War Educator, 'a site dedicated to informing the public about the Korean War'.
