I have been a story teller since childhood; I took journalism in school, and was sidetracked by a love for cosmetology, which was my major career. When I stopped working, I returned to my love of language, and began my writing again. I have numerous publishing credits, essays, poems. Some of my credentials include: A National Bronze Merit Award in 2003 for an essay, Here's Memories, a story in A cup of Comfort series, In Sickness and In Muck, 2005, and several contributions in, Retired, by A, Boroughs Books, 2006. In July, 2009, my first full length novel was published. It is titled, The Long Night Moon, published by Fireside Publications, FL. In March, 2016, my second book, The House On Sunflower Road, was published by Hartwood Publishing Group. They also contracted The Long night Moon and it is now on Amazon in digital format and will be in print later on in July, 2016. I am thrilled with both  books and hope when read, their stories will find a home in the readers' hearts. Writing is one of the joys of life, as is traveling, where I get inspiration at each glance. I can be so enchanted with the oddity of a situation that it takes over the mind and I am compelled to write. I love the drafting of a poem, the thread that carries me to the last line, and then to the last word. I write for the pleasure of story telling, for the joy of creating people who take on the breath of life, and inevitably they become family, real as in flesh. I write because it expands my life, transport me to places only in print; but with words, I'm there watching the ocean, feasting at a banquet, feeling the Brazilian sun warm on my skin....ahh, yes!

I won a National Bronze Merit Award in 2003, for a memoir, Here's Memories, a contribution, In Sickness And In Muck, for A Cup of Comfort anthology series, 2005, and several contributions, 2006, in Retired, by A. Boroughs Books. In July, 2009, my novel, The Long Night Moon was published by Fireside Publications in FL. In 2010, my story, Odella won an Honorable Mention from Writer's Digest for their 82nd annual story competition. In March 2016, my second book, The House On Sunflower Road was released by Hartwood Publishing. In July, 2016, Hartwood did a new release of The Long Night Moon. It has been edited with a new cover. It has all the same conflicts, the same failings to overcome but it is now a clearer read.
