The leaves lie down as authors let go.
Earth quilt prepared... receiving snow.
pewter clouds proclaim Winter's blow.

The mountains send a northern kiss
Through leaf and branch, a sigh... a hiss.
Seasons change... Something amiss.

Fingers dance down neck and spine.
Invisible lips that are not mine...
kissing thee and kissing thine.

Gifts of frost and tales of ice.
Adding snow for winter's spice.
Blow again. Not once... not twice.

Airy voices call through the rush.
barely hearing the warnings hush...
Blame rime and hoar. Cheeks lose their blush. 

The sentinels embrace cold sleep... not death.
As flakes of white dance through our breath.
Obeying sighs the Ice Queen sayeth.

Sheer skirts of mist... and round they twirl.
Transparent locks and tendriles curl.
Whispering sails.. time to unfurl.
