How sad and strange it is in these fast modern days to think that bodies often heat together while spirits remain imprisoned, apart. Your poem goes a long way to reminding us that we ought to settle for nothing less than the ideal of spiritual and physical union... 'tis a consummation devoutly to be wished. Good write, Poetess.

Richard, I promise that this didn't come from your poem. I wrote it in the spring of 2004. It was originally entitled, "Sex" and has already been in a few of my publications. But I'd love to read yours. It will be interesting to see if they are coincidentally similar.

Poetess, Like this a lot. I can't find it right now, but this one reminds me of one of my old poems in which I said something comparing "making love, or just having sex.... to a live concert, or Memorex." This will prompt me to take the time to look it up.
