Being Black Means
enhancing mind, body and soul
walking down the path
graciously
listening to the rhythms
dancing beautifully
with arms open wide
sheding tears
for years of freedom, peace, hope and change
wearing clothes depicting our roots
praying and lighting candles.
Being Black Means
building foundations
working hard.
Being Black Means
recognizing our achievements
singing songs
beating for a call
of honor, respect and dignity.
