To the reader. It is ( most - often than not ) a surprising mystery to me that it seems that the most"simple" way(s) of thinking about things; will most-always bring the BIGGEST & the most Powerful, & successful results. Keep your head...to the sky...as Psalm 119:105 reminds me:"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a LIGHT unto my path" . This is a HAIKU-Poem. Thanks to all & enjoy the read.
I'm not fond of haiku, but I like the simple purpose of this poem. It is more important than ever for young people to learn. Unfortunately, there is a sector of our society that seems to be afraid of education. At least education that is open to explore all learning. They always want to steer education towards their particular religious beliefs, often falsehoods that education exposes.
I'm not sure if this is a Haiku poem which should contain 5-7-5 syllables (first line 5, second line 7, and third line 5), and Haiku poems normally reflect the surroundings of places.
Whatever this poem is it certainly has a great message to our young people nowadays. They need to stay in school and not be succumbed to becoming puppets on a string for any political parties.
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
