Pick up your cross…and follow me…!

Yea, at this invitation, we often flee

For none want to follow the Almighty

Treading branches of Calvary’s Tree

Yet, it is within that sacrificial revere…

growth occurs and ‘thru the veil’…we see

What then…shall we give Him our back?

Indeed, He gives us the choice…to do that

But how can we totally ignore the fact…

‘Higher call’ is part of our journey’s vac?

With refusal to accept this plateaued pact…

merely…forestalling… a vital track

For, becoming…all…He wants us to be

Entails experiencing same rebuffs as He

Walking in His footsteps is not at all an ease

But ‘eternal promises’ lighten earth’s brede

So it is, by faith, striving past a…recede

Let’s pick up our cross and follow…His lead
